Application integration and web sevices are playing an increasingly critical role in business-to-business applications.

Pentelar Inc. implemented a pilot for a Canadian Federal Government Department that allowed the Department to collaborate electronically with other government departments. The premise was to provide the Department with the ability to electronically authenticate (through the use of Web Services and ebXML) Identity Document data with the Issuing Entity, in support of the Department's business mission.

Pentelar presented a demonstration highlighting Sybase's Web Services Integrator's capabilities to address the related technical complexities.
